Bert, like many people, doesn't have a scanner, so his (and hopefully his wife's) contributions will be arriving via snail mail. In the mean time, he sent along pics of his colouring area and his assistant.

Hi, Bert! Welcome. You'll like it here.
I used to have a big orange (and white) assistant with a fluffy tail, too.
hi bert! if i started coloring, my 2 "assistants" would be right there, like yours. too funny! only, cats can't see color, so why so intrigued by coloring? ohhhh-that's right...it's the need to be at the center of my universe. i keep forgetting.
Welcome to Bert and your trusty assistant. It looks like you've got an excellent start. Does your kitty claw your hands as you color? Just coaching your crayonsmanship, of course! Can't wait to see your results. newbie
Thanks, everyone. No, he didn't claw my hands. I think it was more the 'I am the center of the universe' thing.
My mom was house sitting for us a few weeks ago, and she was trying to cross-stitch. But, Legolas climbed up on the couch and sat on her guide book and would not move. So, she put her stuff away....and he jumped down and never came back.
He is a very sweet cat. But, don't tell my wife I said that.
LOL! poophead! hi michelle! welcome! i think the worst i've ever called my cats is either peanut head or peanut brain. even when they are in trouble, i can't stay mad at them for very long, hence, no derrogatory nicknames.

Your secret is safe with us.
Unless someone posts it on the internet.
D'oh!
Too late!
Even though Bert calls the cat "Poophead", I know he likes Legolas.

(hey legolas...you are so purty!)
Welcome Michelle!
I used to have a buddy who called his dog (lovingly, not meanly) "shithead" so often that it responded to it.
"Shithead" was a really cool dog.
The only reason I don't call Legolas 'shithead' is because we have a 16 year old son in the house. Otherwise.....
I have a friend who has a sixteen year old son he calls...
Nah, I'm just makin' that up.
